Mother’s Day Weekend

Friday
It was AdFed day on Friday. Patrick and I attended the last meeting of the year at the Horizon Convention Center in Downtown Muncie. The speaker was John Moore of Brand Autopsy. He spoke about branding of Starbucks. Awesome presentation and great branding information.
After the AdFed meeting, I attended a Small Business workshop at the SBDC in Muncie. Rick Leibowitz, Regional Director, led the presentation. I learned quite a bit about starting your own business and would highly recommend anyone who wants to do it, take the class when offered. Very eye-opening.
After class, it was off to the bar - just like college! :-) Actually, I met with Bonnie Jordan over at the Fickle Peach. I launched her site through Dirty Frog Media last week and I’m waiting on Google to visit it.
Angie rolled into town and we went to Scotty’s and Motini’s.
Saturday
I picked up the kiddos around 11am. My daughter wasn’t feeling well, so we made a b-line for Taco Bell. Some substance in her belly and she was feeling fine. A trip to Wal-Mart followed and then a cross-town trip to Elder-Beerman for a Mother’s Day gift.
Back home in Farmland, my son and I broke out the mowers. Four hours later, the yard was done. I started a fire in the fire pit and we had hot dogs, chips and s’mores. My mom and dad came down for the cookout. To round out the evening, we watched the movie “Unbreakable”.
Sunday
Early Sunday morning, we made our way down to my parents house for Mother’s Day breakfast. We had pancakes, eggs, bacon and strawberries. Cards and gifts were delivered and everyone had a good morning. Church was next, followed by delivery of the kiddos. A bad storm ripped through the southwestern part of the county earlier in the morning. On our way to Losantville, we saw a tree uprooted, limbs down in yards and debris blown everywhere.
Angie and I hung out at her place in the afternoon. Then, around 5pm, we attended a cookout at her mom’s house. I tell you what, Cathy and George can barbeque! That meat fell off the bone :-)
I hope all you mother’s had a great day on Sunday.
